This book is a tribute to Professor Bjørn H. Skallerud (NTNU) in honor of his 60th birthday. The book consists of a homage to Professor Skallerud and extended abstracts presented by his colleagues, students and friends at a symposium on Solid (Bio) Mechanics: Challenges of the Next Decade, held at NTNU in Trondheim, Norway, on September 20, 2019.
The scientific topics covered a broad range from biomechanics, to non linear analysis of solids and structures, to biomedical engineering. The symposium, organized by the Department of Structural Engineering at NTNU, and this book let is afitting gift to Professor Skallerud to honor his service in research and education at SINTEF and NTNU for more than 30 years.
