In this PhD thesis selected fuel efficiency measures for European heavy-duty vehicles were analysed. This was done with the program “Vehicle Energy Consumption calculation Tool” (VECTO), which becomes mandatory in 2019 for the CO2 certification. Depending on vehicle class and powertrain, future energy saving potentials from 9 % to 78 % were found.
